10-26-17

In summary, when I got to the class the students were working on a writing assignment where they had to read a passage and find evidence for the beginning, end, and how the character develops. After the students had there last day to work on their environmental projects. I helped one student with the topic of genocide and we created slides to go with his recording of each slide.

10-25-17

In summary, when I got to my placement the students were working on their narratives and then their environment projects. I went around the room and helped some students with punctuation, organization, and correctly forming sentences. Also, I helped one student for most of the time by finishing his narrative and then creating a slide show that went with his environmental project of hurricanes. We worked together to form questions like what are hurricanes, how do they form, and the climate of Central America.

     In summary, when I got into the class the kids were working on editing and critiquing their narratives. They had to focus on establishing a title, look at spelling and punctuation of the words, and make sure their narratives have a natural flow to them. Throughout the time I was at my placement I helped the students with reaching the goal to resolve their problems and get a good grade on the assignment.

In summary, the whole time I was at my placement I helped the students on creating a slide show based on their topic they chosen that relates to the environment. For some of the students I had to help them site their work and pictures, uses credible resources, and fallow the rubric properly so they can get a four.

10-20-17

In summary, I worked with my book club group and read another chapter. This chapter was about Bruno starting to become curious about where he lives and the people who control it. My group predicted that he will find someone and become friends with them as its shown on the book cover. Finally, I helped some students with their environmental project by finishing their outline.

10-19-17

In summary, when I got to the classroom the kids were doing a reading assignment where they would read a passage and fill out a paper on it. Next, for about 20 minutes I helped some of the kids with their environmental slides. Finally the kids went outside and read to first graders.

10-18-17

In summary, today was a normal ROAR day with the students. We continued to read "The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas" and successfully got to chapter 9. You came in and observed me by typing everything I said in our discussion. I felt looking back at what I said really helps think of new ideas on how to teach the students.

In summary, I helped many students on there environmental projects by making power points on topics like, global warming, hurricanes, polar bears, and commercial farming in South America. As a result of me helping the kids who were struggling, they were able to caught up with their classmates. Next, I was able to do an observation on the kindergarten teacher which thought me many similarities and differences from them both. Kindergarten Observation: -Class Structure -Educational Content -Teaching styles -Behavior among the students

*When I got into class the students were being called down to the nurse. *For the rest of the day I helped the students either on their narratives for their environmental projects. In summary, today was really just me going around the room and helping the kids on their assignments they have to get done.

*The kids continued collecting ideas and reading about their environmental projects. *I helped people on topics like Chernobyl. *Also I was able to help by using the APES slide show I did when I was in that class! In summary, I helped the students on their environmental projects and use my own recourses to help the students.

*When I got into class the students were working on their environmental projects. *I went around the room and helped the students out to find information about their topic. *Finally the kids had ROAR so I worked with my book group. In summary, I helped the students on their environmental projects, then I whent into my book group and read.

10-11-17

Didnt have to attend to my placement -3 hour delay

When I got into the classroom the students were taking a test. After the students had the opportunity to work on their environmental project. I went in my book group and we are currently on chapter 5 Since I wouldn't be at the school the next day I assigned the next chapter to the kids. In summary, the kids were taking a test and I was able to read with my group. Also when the kids left I worked on finding artifacts for my project.

10-6-17

*When I got to the classroom the students were finishing a test. Next, the students were learning about: -Internal and External conflict -From this the students had to turn their flash draft into a internal conflict story.   -Read examples of internal and external writings   -Frequently the teacher will call on multiple people to get many view points on the topic/LEQ. -They used a system called Arch which showed them the internal and external side of their own personal story. In summary, the students worked on their narratives by looking at internal and external conflict within their story.

*The students could choose a project that had to do with the environment. I helped a few students on Chernobyl and Poaching. *When the kids were given the assignment to do over the weekend, I helped some of the students on their Flash-Draft. In summary, I was able to help the students on their environmental project and flash draft. It was a pretty relaxed day for the students to work on their assignments.

10-4-17

*Today Mrs. Ilgenfritx said it was fine if I was able to focus on my portfolio project during class. I went around the room and and found resources to use as examples on my Domains. She had posters, computers, behavioral charts, and much more that I was able to incorporate it. Overall i was able to get a lot of work done on my projects that's due in two weeks. For a short amount of time I helped a student finish his flash-draft which was due today.

10-3-17

*The kids used tour builder for their social studies class. -It showed them the area they live in and its region. *Next the kids and I got into my book group and almost finished chapter 4. Is was about Bruno and his sister wondering about the people in the camps. The chapter also references Bruno's dad to possibly be the concentration camp main leader. -The students in my group were more active than usual which was great!! *In summary, the kids worked on their tour builder when I got into the class and after by book group continued to read "The Boy in the Striped Pajamas".

10-2-17

*When I got to the class the kids worked to create their own reading goal for this month. *For about 20 minutes the kids read and I went around and asked them questions about what they read. *We got into our book groups and read chapter three of the book and discussed the geography of where the events happened at. In summary, I helped the kids create their own reading goal. Then I got with my reading groups and talked about chapter 4 of the Holocaust book. A positive is that the kids have ROAR tomorrow so by group and continue to read chapter 4-5.

9-29-17

*It was parent visitation day at NHW. *The students were working on sign-post for about 15 minutes. *The students had another day of ROAR so some of the kids came with me and we read the Holocaust book. In summary, I helped the kids work on their sign-post matching. Then I got into my book group and we read to chapter three and discussed what happened. For a little but the kids worked on their leads and narratives that were due that day.
